Default Hidden Antenna

I tried one of the hidden fairing antennas on my 2004 EG and it didn't work so well. That's been about 10 years ago and I'm sure technology has gotten better. Any recommendations on which is best or do they still not work well. It's going on a 2017 SGS with a HDHU14si head unit.
Thanks

No real change in technology today. They are sketchy at best and if you have an amp, they dont work.

Thanks for all the replies. I will continue trying to relocate the whip antenna. Not sure I like the running it up along the frame solution. Doesn't seem like that would get good reception either.

I have one on my 2017 SGS with a HDHU14+

...the antenna worked fine with my previous Sony 7000 and H-D GT6.5, does diddly squat for the HDHU14+

I guess some folks listen to radio on bike? I have an USB with music on it that plays, over 4k songs so it’s rare to hear same song over and over like radio. And there’s really nothing new music wise that’s a constant on radio I get a feel from. Someone does but it’s not this guy. Put a short antenna on and leave it be.

I tried an old style, long metal whip antenna run up along the frame on my old bike. It would pick up local stations but not as well as the stock antenna.
