I have a 2020 Street Glide with a Standard radio. I have just removed all the other paired phones that were stored in it's memory. I paired my phone. I want to play music through the Bluetooth. Will it do this? All it keeps saying is Reading. I do play music with a usb thumb drive plugged in, but cannot switch through songs. I can plug my phone in and switch through, but I'd have to put a notch in the door to get it to shut. Is there a solution to the Bluetooth issue beyond switching to touch screen? Or do I have to break out another thousand for a touch screen? Is there one that is plug-play that will still allow me to see the bike's functions? Any and all advice is much appreciated.
Your bike has the Boom GTS - so, you should be able to do this.
First, let's review your USB function. You said you could play music but can't switch songs. Hopefully you are using the left side joy switch to change songs. Pushing to the right advances the song. Pushing left goes back. If still not changing, go to your settings for playback.
Next, let's talk about your phone connection. The phone cubby will not (for the most part) hold a phone. I ran a line to my tour pack and plug in there. An alternate is to buy a wireless car adapter. This plugs into your cubby and connects to your phone. You can then put your phone in your pocket, saddlebag or wherever you want. This adapter will also support carplay or AA - depending on your phone (make sure you buy the correct adapter) Carplay or AA)

Hope this helps - good luck
That does help. I have a Samsung 21 ultra but do not have the adapter. Is this something i can get at Walmart or a specific store, or even amazon? I have it on shuffle, but can't forward to another song with the usb and yes i'm doing it with the left side joy stick. Now, if i plug my phone in i can change songs but everything is done on the ride side joy stick.

I'm actually thinking about changing the head unit to the newest soundstream unit. I know it's an expensive change but after watching a video i see the newer unit does some much more than even the previous one. it looks more cost effective in the long run as compared to the previous model.

Since you a somewhat new to the GTS, I might suggest you give it a try for a little while. I think you will find that it does quite a bit.

Add to that - you already have it.
I get what you're saying. But i want something that just does more so i don't feel out dated. I want more screen options to be honest this is my first touring bike and i'm not quite sure what's available. I want to make the right choice before pulling the trigger on anything.
Is the Sony AX 7000 also a good choice? Or the other soundstreem, HDHU.14+ The Harley GTS is 2k, i don't want to pay that much when there are other options that do the same if not more.
