Default Yellow Basket GZCF 6.5SPL Power Handling

I've read on this forum that many have fed 200+ watts rms into these speakers. However, the manufacturer spec's them at 100w rms and 250w max. I plan to power them from a Diamond amp rated at 150watts rms per channel, crossed over at 100hz (approx.) Will these speakers be happy with that?

Will they be happy...yes. Can they take more and sound better....yes. If you are only going to run 150 "clean watts" to them...you should be able to lower your crossover some more if you like. The higher the watts...the higher the cross unless you are running a DSP.

I know the shop that I got mine from only puts 132 watts to them and crosses them at 60hz and this is a well known shop.

I'm going to run around 200 watts to them and cross them at 120hz on my bike once I get around to it

If you're running off stock radio without DSP, 150w @ 100hz will be just fine. You might find that they may be a tad bright, just lower the treble a hair.

That's a little light, but they'll be ok. I run mine at 200, feel they could take more, seen them take more, but you'll be ok. Just not as loud... but decibel level ain't anything compared to quality and decibel level.

I am not that far off. I got 4 up front running from a 1200.2 sound digital amp. Crossed at 90hz. Very loud and clear.

Thanks for all of the replies. I installed the speakers yesterday. Much better mid-bass response than the Hertz Neo IU had installed previously.
