I wasn't able to get as much done this weekend as I wanted but I'm ready to set the volts with a multimeter and then reassemble the front end. I know the bike needs to be running when I set this but the radio has the feature where it increases volume with your speed, do I need to disable this feature completely from now on since it could increase the volume past what I set as my max volume at 28v/200w ?
Absolutely...turn that feature right off.

Thanks. I should get it all done tomorrow assuming the wife doesn't need anything when I get home from work. Thanks for the help everyone, I'll post an update after its all done.

I have everything adjusted and reassembled. It's very loud and clear just on volume 4 25%ish setting in my garage, weather should be good enough to ride the next couple days so I'll get to hear how it sounds on the road soon.
I think I have just one last question. I set the amp with bass and treble flat as suggested using the 1k -5db file suggested in the stickied thread. My question is am I ok to readjust them to my liking or do I need to leave them flat?

If you maxed out your gains, careful going up on the settings as you will potentially send a distorted signal to the speakers. If you adjust down, no issue there.
