Charging issues after adding a 1500 watt audio amp
I have a 2013 FLTHK. I added a 1500 watt amp to power 6 speakers no subs just 6.5s in fairing, 6x9s in saddle bag lids and the5.25 pods. Bike was charging fine until the amp got added. I have added an Aquatics radio before the amp and it was charging fine. Now it won't charge properly with the radio on. It will charge with the radio off. We just bought a brand new NOCO LI battery and fully charged it up and now the bike is completely dead. Please help!!
Well it doesn't work when you have amp running. So it has something to do with it.
Maybe you are right. But I question if you added to big of load for your charging system. But it works without the amp. Maybe your stator is failing. You could check the output. I kinda doubt it, but wouldn't hurt do it. Maybe all the other kids are running this amp just fine. 1500 watts is a big load.
Are you riding enough to keep up with charging this new big load or just short trips?

You may want to investigate the battery LI battery you installed, they charge differently than AGM batteries. You may want to go back to an AGM battery and see if it charges correctly. Your charging system may have issues with the AMP & the LI battery.

I run a 3000, 2400 and 400 on my stock 2009 Street glide with original stator (67K miles) and high quality lithium battery.
I had similar problems with my Cicada amp and speakers in my 2019 Tridglide. It fried my LiPo battery in the first week. I put in a regular lead acid battery and all my problems went away. I learned the LiPo batteries have very high output for short burst, but do not like long periods of heavy loads.
