Default FLHTP Audio Question?

I have a 2024 Police Electra Glide and I am looking for possible Audio setups. Don't really want to have to spend $3000 plus to install a complete system with speakers. Was wondering if any of you other Cop Glide riders has found something you liked that was a bit more economical? For now I am just using some Shock Wave open ear headphones linked to my cell phone.

I'll be following this as well. Not sure if I want audio or not on the 2024 FLHTP I just bought. I only know for sure I'm not spending $190 on a glove box door for that cubby hole in the fairing.
Lower end priced head units on Crutchfield were $899, with no speakers.

I plug in my phone behind the glove box door, and connect via bluetooth for the Drive app and stream Sirius/XM. Then I connect my Cardo Spirit bluetooth headset to the Garmin. Now I have directions and music on my 2019 FLHTP.

Others have installed bluetooth amp and two speakers in the fairing. One fellow documented this in a HD Police bike group on Facebook. The one fellow who documented his bike the best sold it not long after the updates. So longevity cannot be measured from his experience.

I hesitate to go with any audio until I ride my just purchased bike a bit. I've always used ear plugs due to sensitivity from childhood ear surgeries. I'm holding back to see if I can ride without them behind the fairing.
Several years ago I put a pair of handlebar mounted speakers and bluetooth volume control on my wife's Deluxe. She rides with a regular detachable windshield and she loves it.

I can smoke my pipe, but not my cigars, behind my fairing as I have worked to make it work for me. I still use ear plugs when riding at highway speeds. Around town, no. I am running the police seat and I am 6'7" with a 36 inch inseam. I use the Madstad windshield system with a custom LRS mega curve windshield installed. No more wind buffeting but the wind noise is still present. Especially at 70+ MPH.

Good luck with your research.

As others mentioned, you can add a amp, bluetooth transmitter and fairing speakers and run music from your phone. You could get done for around $1000. Message me if your interested and I can point you in the right direction for equipment.

I'm just a little fella! 5'8. I just installed 2 inch lowering blocks and could probably go another inch to get flat footed on the ground. Not sure if dropping the front an inch would help or not. I'll talk it over with the local HD service manager, he was an indy that got all my work for years.
I've got an 8 inch LRS on the way. This is the 5th one I've bought over the years. I've always been happy with their service.
I guess the only way to find out for sure is to get some miles on it someday when riding season returns to the great white north.

17 FLHTP here and went with a Soundstream V2 and Hertz SX165 speakers in the fairing and definitely no complaints, it's a badass head unit for sure

It does fall in the buy once cry once category tho but there's a ton of install vids out there so you can save a bunch installing it yourself,

it's all plug n play too so no splicing

There are a few different ways to add audio to the service bikes. It all depends on what your overall goals are.
You can add a bluetooth amp and speakers which would be the least expensive or add a aftermarket headunit with amp and speakers which also requires spending $300 to change out the hand control modules to work as a civilian bike with programing of the BCM.

I have done a few of the conversion and have had excellent results.

Swapped out the hand controls on mine and it didn't require any BCM flashing they worked straight out of the box

I do use the Idatalink Maestro MRR2 interface but don't know if that has anything to do with not having to flash it tho..
