Bluetooth Earbuds Won't Sync
All I wanted was to route audio to bluetooth earbuds for better audio at lower volumes while on the highway. Less wind noise would be a plus.
I've found I can route my music on my phone through the bikes audio and can control tracks but not volume.
Wondering if an android car play would give me track AND volume control through handlebar controls?
Really don't want to put a phone holder on the handlebars to make the phones controls available.
Thoughts? Thanks!
Same result if I remove earbud pairing from phone first.
Tried removing and adding phone back on the bike. No problem, pairs right up.
I was able to add earbuds back to phone without issue.
BTW, I've tried the process with three different sets of earbuds from two different manufacturers.
Worst case, I've gotta get the bike serviced before I head out on a 2K mile so I'll ask them about it then.
You'd think bluetooth would behave better by now.

I didn't think you could pair any Bluetooth heads to the Boom Box GTS without the use of a WHIM.
If I am correct, and all you want to do is pair your buds, I might suggest installing a J&M dongle. Installing this will also give you handlebar control for your volume and other functions.
You cannot
Can you pair Bluetooth headsets to the Harley Boom Box?
Currently, you cannot directly pair any brand of wireless Bluetooth headset with the Harley Boom Box. The Boom Box is designed to work with a wired headset and does not support the Handset Profile (HSP) for Bluetooth headsets. Instead, Harley-Davidson has introduced the Wireless Headset Interface Module (WHIM), which allows for the pairing of wireless Bluetooth headsets with the Boom Box. This module must be installed by a Harley-Davidson dealer and is required for models that do not have a WHIM pre-installed. The WHIM is available for purchase separately and is necessary for models from 2014 and laterLast edited by cycle7447; Apr 4, 2026 at 06:21 PM.
