Default Electrical issue

I went to turn on my HD (2004 Road King Custom) and when i hit the starter all the lights went out. I thought is was my battery so i charged it over night and is fully charged. Went to start again and same thing, all the lights wnet out and bike wouldnt start. I do remember that a red light went on and it was the outline of a key. I tried to look it up and can't find what that symbol means... Any help?

Sounds like a possible security issue. Was there a FOB on your bike for electronic security? I believe there is a battery inside mine. [2009]

OR

You might have a shot battery. They do go, and it'll provide 12V for all your lights and stuff, but when you try the starter [the biggest load you have] the battery quits with the high amp draw.

If you aren't having any luck, it is a $70 test...
