id say you should put amp or defeat the purpose of the Rokkers and expensive speakers... all depends what u looking for.. HT's without amp better than stock somewhat at lower cost, but again, amp brings out the clarity while riding on the highway... just throwing my 2cnts.
the HK radio is 26 watts per channel which realistically boils down to about 15watts of clean power. You do NOT need an amplifier for the ROKKERS. They sound great without an amp. If you want more volume cruising down the road at 80MPH, then yes you would want to go with an amp.
The Rokkers will sound better than the factory speakers even with out an amp.
Using an amp will really wake them up though!.
I went with the Bazooka 200.4 amp because it was less than half the price of the J&M 500.4 amp. I think it sounds great even at 75 with the Bazooka and I can't even imagine how the J&M's would sound....

This is what makes reading this forum so great. This is great advice and we're getting it from a guy that spent the extra cash and went with the amp. He's not defending his ego or his purchase, but giving plain facts. Thanks for the input, pal. (I still think I'll get the amp though, otherwise my curiosity would always wonder how great it COULD be with it!)
Just ordered my J&M Rokker 7.25's for my 2012 Street Glide. I can't see spending the coin right now for an amp. I am hoping they sound better than stock for now and if I feel I need an amp when I get some more cash I'll add one. I may look at the Bazooka recommended earlier, thanks! I did add the Iron Cross iPod interface and am really happy with it. I hard the Hog Tune system on order but after reading many posts decided to go with the J&M's. Hope I am happy.
