Default HK radio issue after amp install

I just installed the Hawg Wired Direct Connect RS system and now the radio seems to want to cycle through the audio modes instead of staying on one. For instance, if I have a CD playing, after a few seconds it will switch to weather band then xm then am then fm and so on. It does this without any input from me. The radio seemed to work fine before. Any thoughts or suggestions?

the Hawg Wired (or any) amp is just that, an amp. It in no way has any effect on the logic of the radio itself. It simply takes speaker outputs from the radio, amplifies it, and then sends it out to the speakers. I feel that what you're seeing is either a bad mode switch on the handlebar or the mode button on the radio itself has an issue. Might want to give iron cross audio a call or I'm sure they'll chime in here.

The radio needs an external input for the mods to change.
As stated, it's either a bad mode switch on the bars or a short in the wiring harness.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it's just a coincidence that it started happening after the amp install. I see a new mode switch in my future. Thanks again!

I popped the mode switch button off and sprayed wd-40 on the switch while working it and presto, problem solved. Moisture in the housing I assume.
