CD Player skips bad used good cleaner and new CD's still skips.

 

had my o9 SG HK unit replaced by the dealer, it too would not play a new cd, (not burnt or copied), it was the 3rd time before they would replace it.

Skipping is usually a mechanical issue.

Check for broken fairing brackets or riser bolt contact to the bottom of the radio.

Also, let us know if the unit is skipping without the bike running.

 

All bolts,nuts, brackets and wires are all good, CD's do not skip when bike is shut down, and this morning I noticed all the L.E.D display has quit workin, the back lighting works but no L.E.D. lettering or station numbers.

 

I also had an 06 Street Glide and my CD player would skip like crazy too, guess it may be an issue with radios for that model year, who knows??

 

Display issues on 06 radios are most likely liquid damage.

If all brackets and bolts are good and the Cd does not skip when the bike is not running, you probably have bad dampers in the cd drive.
