just drill a pilot hole and yes sir I used self tapping screw because it was the shortest ones I had at the house at the time.

Just got done installing the same system today, thanks to Mr. Nutz! It sounds great sitting still in the garage. I'm looking forward to a road test!

Now, if I can master this complicated deck! lol...

Mike did you go the velcro route for securing the amp or another way? Glad to hear it works good!

I went the velcro route. That thing isn't going anywhere.

I'm curious about the same thing. I have Velcro that I know will hold and minimize vibration but if used there will only be 1/8 to 1/4 inch between the radio and amp for air flow.

I actually liked the idea of the air gap between the amp and deck. The velcro seems to hold fine, and the amp mounted like it is won't allow it to impact the deck. Seems fine to me.

that amp doesn't get hot so you're good.

anytime i need velcro for something I go to Home Depot and get the hook and loop velcro. Once you stick that stuff, it ain't comin off.
