you have the arc speakers now? if so I would stay with them and put the amp in, then upgrade them if you don't like the outcome to something like the Polk DB651 or the Focal. All depends on what you want to spend. I would certainly try what you have first, you just might like it and no sense spending $ if you don't have to.

Other than the pop, does everthing function properly ??
did you grind off the paint where the ground attaches to the fairing bracket? ground loops can be a biatch to troubleshoot but to start you've got to make sure you have a good solid ground.
if the above is ok, take a piece of wire and ground the chassis of the radio to the same location as your amp is grounded to and try it again.
