I have the same system and really like the addition of the Tweeter Pod - probably more for the relocation of the highs than just having additional highs. The Pod fills in the area behind the windshield with sound in a way that is really noticeable while riding. No you don't need it, but IMO, it's nice to have.
With the setup you've purchased, you're going to find you don't need all those highs with that tweeter pod. I'd install the speakers, amp, and headunit first and see how you like it, then install the pod if you think you need more.
Will do Ultra. I have always liked the idea of the tweeter pod but if you think I don't need it I'll check it out. Could always send it back for a refund.

Thanks for the info Ratdoc! I have heard nothing but good about the Tweeter Pod. Like Ultra says I'll check it out and see what my ears tell me
ratdoc. did you wire the tweeter pods to the radio or to the amp?
Right now I have them wired to the amp in parallel with the fairing speakers. If I'm doing my math correctly, that should give me a 1.86 ohm load, which I hope is OK. I saw your suggestion about wiring tweeters to the Sony and might do that next time I have the fairing off.
I meant to send you a big thanks for recommending this setup. It sounds awesome. I can't believe how much sound those Polks put out.
I know I've spent a ton of $$ over the years trying to find that "sound" for my bikes. This is that sound! And you're welcome
How's the SS holding up to the load? If it's not getting hot or clipping then I would probably just leave it. And yes sir, you're close. 2.7 ohm and 4 ohm in parallel = 1.61 ohms.
And for those that think equal power will be provided to speakers of different impedances (ohms) from your amp in a parallel connection;
A 250w amp will deliver approx 149.x w to the 2.7 ohm speaker and 100.x w to the 4 ohm speaker. It is not an equal split in these wiring configurations.

Hey Rax, I had speakers in my tour pak pods, first Hog Tunes, Than 5.25 R.F. power speakers, than 6.5 Arc 6022 that I had. Then I added Titan II's (HATS) in lowers with Pods from Fairing Factory. You could definitely hear the lowers better than the pods, just wondered if you considered speakers in your lowers? ROCK ON!

Hmm I actually I hadn't. Do I need to do any modifying to put speakers in the lowers or do is there some kind of kit? Would love to see some pics too Mike if ya don't mind?

Well I for one sure do appreciate all you have done for us on the forums Ultra. That's why if you say something I listen, period.
Rax, I mounted my S.S. 520D on top of my Alpine radio with a 1/2 block of Birch plywood cut to the size of the radio, velcro'd the block to the radio, then velcro'd the S.S. to the block. This helped clear the fairing brackets (brackets bend out at a angle) and made a secure isolated mounting platform.
Mike do you have a pic of this? I went back and forth on which amp to buy, had a good deal on a RF * 4 and then with all the heat concerns with the *2 and the cost of the *2, I now have the SS on my bench waiting for the temps to get above 30 to work on the install. I think I will be ok with the wiring soldering and butt connectors, my biggest concern is the mounting of the amp.
