Default Mixing 2 and 4 ohm

Ultranutz. I am going to change from the 4 ch RF amp to the SS and have one more question. I have purchased one pair of Polk MM651 that i plan to put in lowers but was hoping to leave a pair of 4ohm RF's in the fairing. One of these threads you stated it was best not to mix them. Will I have any issues. Fairing will use front outputs and lowers will be using rears. Will probably change uppers as I can afford them.
thankyou for all you do on this forum. I read it daily.

no it won't cause any issues at all. I think what you read was me saying that it's best to match speakers with amp meaning if you have a 2 ohm stable amp, then run 2 ohm speaker loads on it. You can always go higher in ohms to an amp just never go lower as this will cause problems. ie: 2 ohm amp and you're running 4 ohm speakers is fine. 4 ohm amp and you're trying to run 2 ohm speakers, not a good idea. Amp will get hot, clip, or worse.

Running a higher ohm load won't hurt a thing. You'll have to adjust your gains on your amp front channel up a little to compensate for the sound loss.
