Default Wire missing from my Hawg Wired HUA360 adapter??

NOT going well this morning. All set to install the new tunes and first thing, the Cycle Sounds speaker adapters don't fit my RG. The instructions say they will, but the fairing they show in the illustrations don't seem to have the same bolt pattern as my 2006.

Oh well, it being Saturday and all, I figured they won't be there for help (called anyway, I was right) so I would go ahead and get the radio out and the new Kenwood KMR 350U in. Using the V-Twin audio mounting kit, it all went well. Until......

I was getting ready to hook up the wiring adapter and seem to be short a wire. My Kenwood has a wire for a remote, not a 3.5mm plug. The HG adapter shows a blue wire for the Kemwood remote, but that's missing on mine.

Is that something I have to hard wire in? That's not a problem, but not sure what to do at this point. I still have the handlebar wires to run internally but am reluctant to start something else.

Sorry so wordy. Thanks for the help. I'll be right here......with my beer and Jeff Healy singing the blues

hmm.. never had any issues with screw holes not lining up. On page 2 of the manual is shows the fins that need to be removed in order to install on a RG and also the proper rotation of the adapters to line up.

On page 2,3,4 of the install manual it tells you that for kenwood you have to first set the switches to the correct position then add the wire in the proper location.

Thanks fotr the help Ultra.

I got the speaker adapters figured out. The instructions don't mention (or I didn't see) that I needed to leave the old adapters in as well. I thought the CS adapters would screw directly into the fairing, but no. They mount to the factory mounts.

I have the dip switches set, but my instructions show 2 wires for the remote, one a mini-plug and the other, for Kenwood, it shows a 3.5mm bullet connector, which is MIA. There's no mention of where to connect a wire.

I used the Dragon Fly adapters in my batwing. According to one of Dragon Fly's post, they make the adapters for Cycle Sound.

Anyway, on both adapters, two of the mounting holes that I needed to use to mount my Polk MM 651s were "off" by 3/16". I wrestled with the problem for about a half hour, then removed the adapters. I could mount the speakers to the adapters "off of" the bike, but not when they were installed. I guess that when they are installed in the fairing they twist/torque a little, so the holes don't line up. Also, the adapter to fairing mounting screws were unusable. The instructions say there are 4 long screws and 2 short screws but they were all too short.

Anyway, I re-installed them in the fairing and manipulated the portion of the adapter (pressed on the edges with my hands) until I could just barely get all 4 screws started. I then tightened them in a criss-cross pattern until the speakers were seated against them (lots of creaking noises in the process).

They are in and they ultimately worked, but I wouldn't buy or recommend the Dragon Fly adapters until they do a little more "Quality Control" on their production line.

I previously had the Biketronics Titan II speakers in my fairing and they come with their own adapters. I would highly recommend the Biketronics adapters but unfortunately, I don't think they sell them separately.

I guess I'm confused because looking at this it shows the position of the switches and it shows the 4 screws at the bottom that you loosen, slide a wire in and then tighten back down. The RM being the location to connect your blue/yellow wire from your kenwood to.

Yours is different than mine. The fourth connector on mine is labeled

SW---Illumination-----Softswitch-----Orange

This is what my instructions call for.

And the plug wire is what my unit doesn't have.

And after all this, the damn radio doesn't work I'll go get a Sony tomorrow.

dude.. the slot closest to the 3.5mm wire coming out of the device is what you connect to your kenwood yellow/blue wire.
