They worked very well! The only issue I found was the hardware they supplied was slightly small for the job. The factory HD screws are #10 hardware. The screws that came with my adapters are #8. When I went to tighten down the first two screws, one of them stripped in the fairing! I was pissed! I knew that I hadn't wrenched down on it very hard. That's when I realized the included screws were smaller. No worries, a short trip to Home Depot fixed the problem. Replaced the included screws with the one's I just picked up and everything tightened down perfectly.
You have to drill holes in the adapter for three of the screw holes, which I did while it was on the bike. For these holes I drilled a small pilot hole and used the screws that came with the rings. The fourth hole is where the fairing brace attaches so I used a new #10 screw.
Everything is snugged up nicely and the speakers sound great! Now I'm thinking it's time for a amp......
The notion that aftermarket parts just bolt-on is like plug and play with computers. It just isn't so! I'm pretty sure there is no "standard" bolt pattern for speakers? Dragonfly mostly use Focal speakers. I'm sure they fit fine with those? Really? Ya guys can't drill holes?

I just started this thread for folks that are purchasing the Polk MM651's and the purpose was to let them know that the Dragonfly Adapters that I received don't line-up with them (not even close). I'm not trying to bash and I'm pretty sure they will line-up with Focals and others (at least I hope they do). Why waste time with something that doesn't fit right? The Hawg-Wired rings work PERFECTLY with the Polk's and for a piece of plastic are 100% better quality IMO. I guess you could say they're plug and play!

Sorry Guys I've been away for a while as the shop is so slammed I can't even get a chance sit at my desk and get to emails. I'm understanding that the Polks don't fit the rings all that well. Sorry to say we've never even tried them. We are not fans of the Neo Magnet in general for high power applications after they have been running for while. Some are, and that is their preference, As the MM651 was not available in 2008 when we spent the over 12K for mold and design to make a ring for everyone to copy, we couldn't have known that Polk Audio Speakers would be an issue. Perhaps we can just blame Polk for not following everyone else's sizes and take Dragonfly off the hook. I can say that the Arc Audio are a direct splash with some appearance changes. I have seen some on here say to simply drill a couple holes to make the part you bought somewhere else than the place where the "mount/adapter" from is easy.
I also saw that the screws we use are in some peoples opinion are to short. I can say from personal experience, if the Fairing holes are not hogged out, I as a grown man can't pull the ring loose from the fairing with all my strength (which was the test BTW). Perhaps some need more, please feel free to do so on the "ONE or TWO) sets you will install that makes you a pro.
IMO if your going to buy an entire system from 4 different vendors please don't be a child about an extra 5 min of labor. If you require the "close your eyes install" buy the entire kit from the same vendor, then have it done for you.
I will apologize if I appear a little cranky on this, but the bitching to everyone on the forums over a $40.00 that doesn't fit something we don't sell, only shows you should have you bike worked on by someone the works on bikes.
Our phone rang 9 times from one customer today that didn't want to ready his instructions that come with color pictures that tell him how to do an install of a radio. Then to find out he didn't even know what a "Test Light" was. We tried our best to help diagnose hooking up Power, Ground, and switched power. In the end we finally figured out he didn't think he needed to hook up the ground as the fairing was mounted to the bike.

Wow, now thats what I call customer service. Rough day at the shop Kevin, This response to customer complaints makes me want to do all kinds of business with Fly. Take a deep breath count to ten then go home and kick your dog! YOU MUST BUY EVERYTHING FROM US OR YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN! Oh yeah and if you have trouble hooking anything up don't call us we'll only be pissed off! LMAO

comon guys.. all the guy is saying here is the adapters fit; plain and simple. Believe me I've run across my share of people who won't read instructions either and usually for 2 reasons; 1- they think they know it all already and wind up being the ones to f**k their stuff up or 2- they simply want someone else to do it for them. Actually had a guy email me the other day about the CS fairing adapters saying "hey it's only got 3 holes for screws to mount to the inner fairing" so I explained why. Low and behold he drills out the 4th hole, puts a screw in it, and guess where it goes? right through the front of his fairing. Then has the f-in nerve to email me and tell me that I should have told him the instructions say not to use the 4th hole. If he was standing in front of me I probably would have decked him simply for being an idiot.
In reference to the screws being too short, I don't get it. I've installed many of these adapter rings over the years from Cycle Sounds which are the same adapters manufactured by DragonFly and NEVER, NOT ONCE have I ever had an issue with them including screw holes for speakers lining up properly. And even if I did, it's a simple fix; drill new holes. I mean hell most of you do it for your tourpak pods anyways so what's the difference.
