6.5'' Adapter Rings
My buddy's Street Glide has the flat-style adaptors. You can see the speaker surround slapping the adapter ring when the bass hits. I don't know about you, but I'm not good with that. You can hear it as well.
I had Dragonfly adapters in my '10 Street Glide. First set of speakers were Alpines. Adapters worked great. Second set of speakers, MM651's. Adapters worked great. Yes, I finessed the screws, but they mounted solid and never let go. I must have gotten a good fairing that time around...
As I have to return these speakers to the person whom loaned them to me, (UltraNutZ) I do not wish to modify, but its apparent, that if there are any issues going up one size with a drill bit would solve any issues.

First, I tried the DF adapters since they were recommended and the speaker screw holes did not line-up. I guess I could have drilled out the holes in my speakers but I'm not into that. I'm just going to chalk that up to receiving a bad set and leave it at that.
Second, I tried the (old style) HW adapters that came with my HW DCS and they fit fine with a slight mod to the slot in the horizontal fairing brace. I'm selling that system and the adapters go with it.
Third, I ordered a set of the (new style) HW adapters and I didn't even bother to install them because they require you to remove the horizontal fairing brace because the speaker mounting holes oppose the fairing mounting holes (see pic). You could drill a new hole in the brace and use a long screw to mount the brace. The speaker screws did line-up without problem.
Fourth, I ordered a set of Arc adapters. Everything lined-up perfectly with no mods whatsoever and they come with all the correct screws. Obviously, what I ended up using and I highly recommend for the Polk's.

funny thing is I just put another pair of Polk MM651 speakers in a batwing Tuesday with the DF adapters. Screw holes lined up perfectly with no mods whatsoever.
As a person who builds magzine cover bikes from the ground up I fail to see the
on something as simple as, I don't feel I should pick up a Drill Bit to get the job done mentality. Of course I don't sweat the petty stuff like some. I pet the sweaty stuff. LOL
To all a great night!!!

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I've put speakers from biketronics, focal, kenwood, kicker, polk audio, and RF all on these adapters that I've been buying from cycle sounds (made by dragonfly) for years and even with Kevin's comments a week or so ago about maybe having to drill out the hole(s) a tad with the polks, I have NEVER had to drill a single hole to get any of these speakers mounted to these adapter rings.
