I installed the RF pbr 300x2 with Polk mm651's and Dragonfly adapters last weekend and all went in exactly as UN's instructions described. The orientation of the rings wasn't obvious to me at first and the trick of starting each of the 4 screws before tightening them worked for me. Just saw one weird thing in the dragonfly instructions when they talked about one screw being longer than the others. All screws were same size but all worked perfectly regardless. I know this is a well traveled path with these components but the audio upgrade is awesome and even more enjoyable putting it in myself. Hope the RF can stand the 110 + degree heat here in Phoenix, thanks UN, DF and Amazon.

IMO three screws holds it plenty well enough. I was a little too concerned with a screw coming out the other end and just decided not to use that last screw at all.

I set the MM651 speakers onto the adapter on the bench. Holes are out about a half hole each. It wasn't deflection on the bench and i believe when i tried them on the fairing it was deflecting because the screw holes are binding. They are trying to go in crooked. I reamed the speaker holes up a size and its still out. I am only going to be able to use three screws. There isn't enough meat on the speakers to open them up that far.The speakers are actually a little smaller OD then the Dragon Fly adapters. Possibly that is the problem when the holes were layed out. Just for kicks I had the grills off a set of DXI and layed just the grill onto the adapter, same thing, out about a half hole. It would be nice if the adapters were thicker, I could center the speaker and drill four new holes.
Just a note . I am not ripping on Dragon Fly, their are too many that say they worked. Possibly Polk changed something ???

I could only fit three holes with my MM651s, it was more than enough, very solid.

some are some aren't. Get them from a reputable place like biketronics, dragonfly cycle concepts, cycle sounds.

yes. you have to trim a little notch on them for RG installs. Here's the install instructions from Cycle Sounds. These adapters are manufactured by Dragonfly Cycle Concepts.

I ended up with 3 screws in each of my mm651's and dragonfly adapters when installed in my 09 batwing. No I didn't drill out the plastic frames of the speakers or drill a new hole in the adapter. I am more than capable of doing what it takes to make stuff work and there is no way I could have gotten four screws started even at severe angles. That said I'm not sure I didn't distort the speaker frame with the three I have in and will probably go check to see if that is the case.

If you distorted the speaker frame, you'd know it by the sound of the speaker. Speakers are designed with perfect alignment and if the movement of that speaker is out of alignment it will be told via the sound of the speaker being very distorted.

I just don't get it. Unless there are some manufacturing tolerances that are not being adhered to with these adapters and you guys are unfortunate enough to wind up with those, I have NEVER had an issue putting a Polk or any other speaker on the Dragonfly/Cycle Sounds adapters rings. Never had to drill a hole out, never even had to ream a hole out.
