I bought the HogTunes NCA-70.2 REV Series Amp with Speakers 902.2/REV for my 2010 FLHX StreetGlide and it sounds pretty decent. My only problem is my reception is not as good as it was without the upgrade. Especially near any trees ... the radio turns to pure static. I pulled up next to some construction vehicles and the same thing. What the hell has happened to my reception? I see a green light when the amp has power so I think I have the latest amp.
It's still the original antenna. The whip is on the back saddlebag. I've read that the RF energy bleeds from the amp into the antenna. Why isn't this a disclaimer before you make this kind of purchase? This is a known issue. Damnit! Two steps forward...one step back. I guess now they market a different type of antenna selling for $$$ to fix the problem they created?
The RF is a BR Class amp, not Class D and if it's a known issue with the RF amps, it's the first I've heard of it. Other Class D amps, yes it's a known issue.
I would suggest you trace your antenna cable all the way back to where it connects to the mounting plate to make sure all connections are tight and free from corrosion, and no nicks, kinks etc. in it.
The disclaimer is simple sir. It's an HD bike, designed by HD engineers, specd by HD engineers (including it's accessories), and built by HD assembly line workers. Adding anything outside of HD parts, you're on your own as far as they're concerned. Be kinda like me taking a 500W amp, slapping it in my Chevy truck on my stock radio and speakers, blowing the speakers then expecting Chevy to make good on the speakers.
