just finish the installation of my PBR300X2 and MM651 front speaker wrap with poly and did the setup procedure everything is ok the sound is great :-) i closed everything and did the final test, when i crank up the volume for a moment i smell something like burning and after the smell dissipate. Is it normal ! I double check everything the ampli is not hot ,10 gauge wiring and a good ground, don,t see anything wrong.
I know new PC's will have some smells associated as they "burn in".
I would pull the batwing and just crank it for a while and see if you can locate the smell. Cycle it on and off, w/ some cooling time in between, and make sure it's 100% before you button it back up.
Would like to see how you wrap the speakers with Poly if you don't mind getting a pic? Depending on the actual smell - hot vs burning. I'd make sure some of hte poly isn't in the speaker melting?
took my fairing off drop a cd and crank up the volume for 15 minutes ,no more smell the amp get warm but not much, i think the smell came from the amp when i put power for the first time.
The sound is amazing i love it
now just need the weather to warm up and hit the road .
