I have a 2012 Ultra Limited with a stock audio system. I would like to upgrade it so it is easier to here when cruising and would like a clearer, crisper sound. I use an ipod and Pandora most of the time. Can you give me some suggested products (amps, speakers) to use with the stock head unit? I am looking to do the work myself.
I just bought the JM 7.25 fairing speakers and amp. Product#s. amp. Jmaa-1800hc06. For my street glide. I too run an ipod and didn't want to get to extreme just crisper sound.
Ultra, what is your budget? The more you spend the better it sounds. Are you looking to replace existing speakers? Add speakers?
A lot of people are going with Soundstream PN4.520D amp with Polk MM651 speakers. If you go through this forum you can find much written about those components, individually as well as together. UltraNutz, GlacierPearl, Harleypingman are a few who are very knowledgeable around sound on a MC.

I am looking at $500 budget. No additional speakers, just replace original front fairing and rear pods.
Soundstream PN4.520d amp, about $135 shipped (www.savinglots.com); 2 sets of Polk MM651 speakers, $130 * 2=260 plus shipping (amazon.com); 6.5" speaker adapter rings $40 (dragonflyconcepts.com); plus other bits (10 AWG wire for power/ground to amp, connectors, polyfil, in-line fuse holder, fuse) has you right around your budget. Install is not that complicated, and you have a nice system.
