But these fairings are not waterproof by any means. Take the cap off your fairing. On the outter, you'll notice a gasket where the fairing meets the windshield. But there's no gasket between the inner fairing and the windshield. And besides, there's only 7 screws holding it all together, and look where the screws are located. Not the best design...

Hey, on this note I just cut up an o-ring of a diameter that pushed in that gap, tapered the end on top to look ok. I too, noticed the likely spot for water to enter there.

I am looking at buying j & m acoustic pads which are cut for batwing fairings. Suppose to be fire resistance also.

save your $ as they do not help to solidify your bottom end bass. All they simply do is absorb sound waves. You don't want your sound waves absorbed, you want them slowed and then returned in the form of sound pressure to coincide with the movement of the mid bass drivers.

GoPro, I know perfectly well about inner and outer fairings and gaskets. If you are getting so much water intrusion to soak a syn fiber material, you have a fitment issue between your inner and outer fairings and windshields.

[ULTRANUTZ>>>>As for the "home-made" comment above. Do your research before you get up here and promote a product which doesn't even come close to doing the same thing polyfil does and you'll find that this has been used in the audio speaker enclosure design process for many a years.. Long before your company ever got into motorcycle amp/speaker setups. Instead of simply saying "hey my product is better and you can buy it here" why don't you enlighten us very specifically as to why you think your product is better. And in fact why you think this product is better than polyfil when even the MASTER engineers of companies such as Klipsch, Steinway, Focal, and Avantgarde all use polyfil and not acoustic foam within their $100k+ speaker enclosures.]

Sorry for the rant...[/quote]

LMAO! I can't wait for the answer to this one!

lol while I agree that a review is a review and I would like to know the bad news about something I bought it just seems wrong to knock supporters, But hopefully it is taken in a positive way and then improvements are made from the negative feedback

there are quite a few folks here a lot smarter than I am ,,,

as for improving fairing and/or speaker acoustic properties inside the Harley batwing fairing ,,,,, what I do know is this ,,,,

if you don't do SOMETHING, at high speaker volumes, the lower frequencies will get kind of rumbly or boxy sounding ,,,,,

reducing these unwanted sounds is somewhat easy, making use of acoustic dampening materials either on the back of the speaker, or working as a liner to the inside shell of the fairing ,,,,,,,,

I designed the flame resistant die cut foam pads, as I wanted something that did not absorb water, and no one would have to worry about electrical shorts etc causing a problem inside the fairing ,,,,,,

are there betters ideas out there ?,,,, certainly ,,,,,,,

just remember that the fairing is still open around the fork neck, so no matter what you do, you cannot make it a real efficient speaker acoustic box ,,,,,,,

I think the J&M foam pads provide the best balance of sound improvement with a cost effective, easy to install acoustic material ,,,,,
