I've heard 1-1.5" for the batwing, have seen several pics, and know it'll be thick enough that outer fairing will hold it in place. Think I'm good there. What about the lowers? I just recently saw UN said poly-fil could be over done in lowers. So how much should be done in the lowers? Is it better to error on too much or too little?

I just used a couple hand fulls to line the inside of the pods. There was enough inside so that the speaker magnet compressed it when I put the speaker in. So far Its working well for me.

simply line the inside of the lower and rear pods. Don't wrap the speaker like the fairing because the lowers and rears are smaller enclosures and are almost completely sealed. They just need to be lined.

I installeed the JM stock replacement speakers and these pads. The sound was NOT much better than stock. Not worth the cost IMHO.

my opinion as well. Use Polyfil and wrap the fairing speakers like a big white cotton ball. You WILL notice that difference.

Default Anyone's

Just finished up my SS 4.520D amp and Biketronics 6.5 speaker install in my 2012 SG. I used Polyfil but suspect I got the wrong Polyfil. The stuff I got is like a foam pad not the soft fluffy stuff. Haven't tried to re-install my batwing yet, but suspect its gonna be tough!

Any thoughts on where the amp, Loc80 pr wiring is before I reassemble?

Thanks!

Wrong stuff. I used poly fill that I got from UltranutZ and had trouble closing fairing back up. Hopefully he can point me in right direction tomorrow.

Looks like your amp will hit the fairing B4 the PolyFil will. I put the Baffles over my speakers and had no trouble. Can you move the amp back where it is flush with the HU??
