Default PN4.520D install failure

Well, i finally got all the pieces (Thanks UltraNutZ!) and got cranking on the install. Everything was going great until i decided to try to see if the batwing would fit back on with the amp on. well, since i have the CB and ipod interface, the PN4.520 is too tall and i can't close the batwing. i tried every location i could think of, but it is a no go. Needless to say, i'm kind of stuck. Does anyone have any ideas? I guess i'm looking for suggestions on an amp that will fit with the ipod and cb interfaces installed. Anyone know what would work there?

Neither the Soundstream nor the Rockford Fosgate will fit inside the batwing fairing mounted on top of the modules. The amp must be mounted to the top of the head unit.

I'm not sure what the ipod interface looks like but if it is like the Harley CB and/or XM modules, it (along with your CB module) can be mounted to the bottom of your head unit (Yes there is room). You'll just need to unplug the modules, reroute the wires and plug them back in.

There is a bracket available to relocate the modules under the head unit (about $65.00 +/-), but you don't really need it. Attach the modules to the bottom of the head unit with Scotch All-Weather Velcro (Industrial Strength 3M Dura Lok Fasteners). You can get this in the hardware section at Walmart, Office Max or Office Depot. It is a great/strong product. If you feel so inclined, you can buy or make a long zip-tie and wrap it around your amp, head unit and modules.

yep.. there are plenty of discussions about those with devices on top of the radio and you must relocate those devices below the radio. You can either use a bracket from Scott Ezell (there are others out there also) or simply mount them under the radio and use large zip ties to hold them in place. Some use Velcro as well.

Scott's bracket is great, makes for a really clean looking install and also allows air to flow around head unit and amp. The SS would be a tighter fit but should work fine. Make sure you mount the amp as far back towards the gauges as possible.

I have the same setup as you I just moved the CB & Ipod module under the head Unit and tyrapped them in place not gonna move, very secure. The SS amp fits very good above the head unit just push back as far as possible.
You mwill love this amp.
