Not a fan of the lower end FOCAL speakers,.........and you can piece together something better sounding, for what they charge for their systems.
That being said, folks like these guys are in the business, and do very well, because most people don't have the confidence, time, knowledge or patience to do it their selves.
And,...........'there ain't so such thing as a free lunch' !! These guys need to make a profit to keep the doors open.
I don't begrudge anyone that offers a good service at a fair price. These guys obviously offer a great service, however,...... a good deal is a state of mind !
I agree with GP. another member was on here yesterday and at a rally so asking for advice since he wanted to have it installed there and I gave him the exact advice GP is giving you.
I had Pete install their level 4 system with HATS 57-2 in the lids. First, he is an outstanding guy and will absolutely do a good job with quality materials. Secondly, you get what you pay for. While a great system is certainly not cheap, his mark-up is very modest. I priced the individual items on Ebay and Crutchfields and came out to what he charges plus he installs for free. No brainer.
I had been having issues with my RF/Polk then RF/Hertz setup and was never really happy. I saw that they were doing installs in Ocean City last weekend emailed them last friday night after hours. Pete got back to me within 5 minutes and said that they coukd fit me in the following day at 4:30 and we would decide what setup i was getting - if any- at that time. I wound up having them install a Sony 310 BTX head unit with adapter kit, arc 125.4 amp and Focal 165KRC's. They also ran the wires for the second set of speakers I will be putting in the bags over the winter.
All I have to say is DAMN. This cranks. Although they were SWAMPED with installs they took the time to go thru the entire system with me and let me hear all of the speakers they offer multiple times. No hard sell at all. Now I'm not saying that this is the least expensive way to go by ANY means but I am very happy with my purchase.
I am not familiar with this particular vendor but Focal & Arc Audio products are top notch in my book and I am not alone look and see what brands Dragonfly sell. It doesn't take rocket science to put together decent components and install yourself. Look up Onthelo(Shaun) has best installs I've seen on this forum.
