I'm looking at doing a Sony hu, the ss amp and the Polk speakers. I can get the mm6501 series for 190 on amazon and I don't mind losing the bottom two gauges. Is it worth doing this for the price or just stick with the mm651? I know about the fm issues and don't mind cause the hu I'm looking at holds the iPod inside and I also might add speaker pods to the tour pak I'm about to buy so I wanna have the option with the 4 channel amp. Any advice would be nice thanks a lot guys
Lots of folks like the component setups because they like the tweeters in their face, some don't. I fall into the latter category but in reality it's all a matter of listening preference and what you like. The speakers are the same speakers with the exception of the MM 6501 handling a tad bit more power than the MM651 (125 RMS, 250 Peak vs 100 RMS, 200 Peak) and of course being components. Either way you'll be happy with your choice.
Ok great, now as far as wiring goes should I just connect the tweeters to the hu or amp? And do you know is there a kit or some type of instruction on mounting the tweeters in the gauge locations? Thanks un
