So has anyone used any of the soundstream component speakers, like the PC-6.
I like my polk dxi's but am looking at the next upgrade and these speakers are inexpensive too....
What amp are you running? If it's 2ohm stable, I'd go with the Polk MM651's. They're far superior to either of those speakers. I would suggest you purchase through somewhere like Sonicelectronix because of their warranty. If not running an amp they are 2ohm so they can be used with just HK head unit. Polk makes a component version as well, the MM6501 and they spec about the same with a little more power handling. If you need 4ohm speakers, I would go with the Biketronics BT7P1. Either would be a great, proven upgrade!

Soundstream used to make excellent speakers and amps back in the day. I used two of their amps and a pair of subs in a competition car back in the mid 90s. Good stuff. I understand the company is a far cry from what used to be.
FWIW, let's don't get too hung up on specs. Although they can be informative, they in no way tell the complete story about how an audio component will sound. If I relied totally on specifications, I wouldn't have used high end tube amps in my home system for the past 15 years. Solid State amps can measure much better, but sound not nearly as good.

That was my exact thoughts, I have had a few amps over the years that were rated at certain watts and never pushed anywhere near that......also seeing SS has stepped up to the plate on their new amps I was wondering if anyone had an experience with their new speakers
For me,...............the first red flag was the price...............Not always, but a lot of the time, you get what you pay for........ Regardless of the specs, an $800 speaker will always sound better than a $69 speaker !!
When you start comparing $229 speakers versus $399 speakers, YMMV !!
