Default How many running MM651's and not having problems

Got two sets coming to install on Mon. Running stock CVO HK head unit, and Amp. Specs on amp are only 40 watts per channel.
Wondering if I should just send them back and try another speaker, or are their folks running these that are not having problems?

Only one word of advice...
If your supplier isn't an authorized Polk distributor, don't even open the box and send them straight back. Purchace ONLY from authorized dealers!

Been wondering about this as well but have been leaning towards spending some more for some Hertz HCX 165's anyway.

Beav trust me I understand your frustration....I'm going through the same chit now however I've come to understand why only certain retailers are "certified." They either paid Polk to be certified, or sell the speakers for the rediculous price point that Polk wants them be sold for. There are plenty of retailers that aren't certified dealers that still warranty the stuff they sell. Sonic Electronix is one of them. After we got past the "blown" speaker misconception, a little help from UltraNutz, and a reference to this forum, they figured out that some of us novice audiophiles are just calling our speakers "blown" (I.e. competly dead and non repairable) in error. As Ultra has said, this is not a retailer problem, this is a Polk problem. Chances are they aren't going to admit that unless enough of us call, bitch, and complain that they are forced to. While I can't speak for the retailer you purchased from, I can give Sonic Electronix the nod for not just blatantly telling me to go pound salt like Polk did. While I did have to call them 3 times and finally speak with someone that new something about speakers and was in the postion to do something about it, they were open to comunication and reason, and were willing to help. Hence they are taking my speakers back and replacing them under warranty. I hope with a little more persuasion you can achieve the same outcome.

So far so good. Have almost 1000 miles on mine, no issues. I didn't buy from an authorized dealer but got the square trade warranty, so hopefully I'm covered.

Appreciate the encouragement Monty...

Mine aren't only "drooping," but the sound quality has greatly diminished (clicks, pops, buzz... apply technical term for "blown" ie: useless.)

Just frustrated. I'm one of a few left that are "old school." I stand behind what I say, my handshake is worth more than a signature on a piece of paper... Just disappointing that it's very uncommon anymore.

Add to it that I'm almost computer illiterate (sending "page snapshots" etc,) and it makes for an uphill battle.

They've got my money, and now it's MY PROBLEM...

I have had my 651s for almost 4 years, still working fine. Wet sounds Syn micro amp 125 watts.

No truer words my friend. It's sad. I wish more were like you, and I. A gentlemans agreement; a mans word; seem to be relics of the past nowadays. I was brought up that nothing was so sacred as your "word" and if you gave it, you better follow through.
