Default SS amp mounting question

First Off / Thanks Ultranutz for all the help you provide to this forum.

Now.. On to the question. Have got my SS 520 amp and mm651 polks on the way. In reading up more on this install I see I have to remount my CB interface to the bottom side of the head unit so the SS amp will fit on top of unit......correct?

By doing this (making a sandwich) of the head unit, won't heat become a problem ? Have read where some have velcro install and some zip tied and others used a aftermarket bracket. Does the bracket seperate the sandwich a tad and leave a small gap between head unit, amp, and CB for cooling or is there simply not enough room for that. Secondly, by placing amp on top of head unit will weight take its toll on the head unit bracketry and beging to sag ?

I realize I haven't got in there yet and it may become self explanitory once I do but just want to do it as right as possible to avoid having to go back in for something I shortcutted and didn't realize.

Mounting polk crossovers in fairing; velcro and zip ties alongside the fairing brackets ?
Mounting polks crossovers for rear pods; velcro to front of tour pak behind the little pillow ? where to route wires ?

Yes sir you are correct. You can use a bracket to do so, or velcro and a ziptie works just as well.

yes sir it leaves a small 1/4" or less gap for the CB module but then again the CB module doesn't produce any heat nor do Class D amps so heat won't be an issue.

The way the radio is attached to the fairing brackets, weight nor sagging will ever be an issue. You'll see that once you get in there.

great train of thought. Do it once!

there are vertical fairing brackets which is what the head unit is bolted to and then there are horizontal fairing brackets that go from the vertical fairing bracket to the outside lower screw that hold the speaker in. The crossovers fit perfectly behind that horizontal fairing bracket and secure easily with a zip tie.

you can see below where the wires go on my installs.
