I am currently running polk 6.5 speakers and they are junk blew 2nd pair. I am not running gain high or nor is it bridged. What 6.5 speakers do u recommend that will jam.
What is it with guys and the "i blew my Polk's" lately?
I bet I havent seen a "Blown" speaker since the 80's. There is a big difference in "Blown" and "misused" or mistreated.
If you have a DXi Polk or a db series polk speaker, and you install it on a motorcycle, be prepared to keep it dry as possible and don't expect to get the same sound quality that you will with the higher.
If you actually "Blew" that speaker, then you were sending a clipped signal to it. It is almost impossible to blow a speaker just due to hi current from your amp.
It likely rattled apart, got wet, or you sent a clipped signal to it.
Give us more details and some pictures or a video so we can see it. Or give some details that show you posses the knowledge to properly set up your amp for that speaker.
Sorry to sound so blunt but this is just one of several "Blown Polk" threads floating around here recently. And in every one of them, I suspect improper use as the problem, not a fault of the speaker.

I'd make the dealer replace the Polk's if there still under warranty. I've run my Focal 3.5 yrs without issue and no interest or desire to replace them till I blow them up! However my speakers only had 1 yr warranty. From sound quality, reliability & the lifetime warranty perspective I think the Biketronics 7.1 would be top choice if I'd to buy again.
