B2017 FL Speaker Open, B2023 RR Speaker short to 12v, B2022 RR Speaker short to gnd
B 2021 RL speaker open, B 2020 RR Speaker Shorted. I'm not sure what this all means and I'm open to any and all ideas.

My left hand button (audio/ Vol +/-) seems to work fine. The right hand switch isn't doing it's job from what I can tell, and I checked the pins and connector for proper seating. I'm not sure if it's the radio or not, but fact that switching the ignition switch between "IGN" and "ACC" ends up rotating through my sources (each turn of the switch moves to the next source) seems to indicate there MIGHT be something amiss in the old HK. Any ideas?
On a good note, when I did manage to land the unit on "AUX", the Iron Cross Bluetooth mod worked great (if you do this, look for "BT-Speaker" in your list of chocies on your device), and of course the preamps feeding the SS amp make the sound so much better, so kudos to Tony and company at Iron Cross on the two mods I just had them do. Even the factory red color seems to match my gauges well, so that's good. Now if only I could use the "Mode" switch to move through the sources/channels (on either AM/FM/WB or XM)...
When the menu comes up and the first option should read Diag Test - it does not - it reads Defaults. I pushed SK 1 for Defaults and it just returns to the channel the radio was on.
Any suggestions?
Thanks Ed
I would like to thank Harleypingman for sharing this Self-Diagnostic manual. I will check first of all if there is really a problem with the speaker, but I had the same issues, that the radio started to cut off during normal operation. Switching off and on again solved at least in the beginning the problem. But now nothing is helping anymore, the display shows normal operation but no sound, either from CD or radio. I read now the complete threat and saw several entries about Code B2017 FL Speaker Open. I have the same error code.

My question: is it worth to get the radio repaired by Iron Cross Audio or should I go for a new one? My problem is, living in Europe / Germany and sending the unit over to the States, this costs already a lot, getting it repaired (if possible) and shipping back to me, would cost me nearly the same by buying a new unit. Also there is a year warranty on the service provided, but no guaranty that solves my problem for long term. Another option would be, getting these Retro-Radio adapters and purchasing an aftermarket-radio. I cant get a complete set from USA since warranty questions would create more problems.
I know, this is in the end my decision, but your opinion would be much appreciated.

swap front left speaker with front right speaker
see if the code comes back.
If it does and it still shows FL Speaker Open then it's your head unit that has a problem
If it does and it now shows FR Speaker Open then it's the speaker itself that is bad.
