Default BT7P1 Install ?

Im upgarding my current audio again on my 05' electra glide My ? is I originally had the BT Titan II's 6.5" in the fairing per there install instructions as of last year. Im now installing the 7P1's in the fairing and they say to use the new #10x7/8" screws for the 7P1 adapter rings PROBLEM IS when I removed the original screws from the titans adapter rings the new screws just strip out like there not the same as the titans had? Have any of you had this problem and if so what did you end up doing?

I was thinking of using the old screws from the Titans but the way the new 7P1 adapters are made they look like they may come through the inner fairing?

Update: I re-used the old screws but I cut down the lower mount screw for each adapter about a 1/4" inch were back in business. BT7P1's are in.
