2ohm v. 4ohm amps; impedence mismatch

I've an SG w/ 2 fairng spkrs and plan to stick w/ 2. Currently I'm running the OEM headunit, Hogtunes 70.2 amp (2ohm), and Focal PC 165 (4ohm). Polyfilled the fairing. Thing sounds great but sometimes at high volume it looses clarity, which I assume is due to the impedence mismatch.

How should I fix this? Upgrade to a 4ohm amp or get 2ohm spkrs? When I picked the Hogtunes amp I was not so knowledgable and was pretty concerned about keeping weight down (weight factors into all my mods). I've been through two sets of spkrs before getting to the PC 165, wh/ are not light. If I change amps I'll get somewthing made in the US and so I'm leaning toward Hawg Wired. Evenutaly the OEM HU will go, mostly because I want blutooth.

You're losing clarity because the 70.2 is not powerful enough to get everything out of those speakers.

Upgrade the amp.

JEFLA-get a Rockford pbr300x2 and you will be set, has plenty power to rock those speakers and it's not gonna break bank $130 new on eBay. And yes it fits on top of HK unit behind batwing fairing.

How is everyone wiring the PBR 4 channel set up or 2 ?

Update-ish. Got a BT-454 but have not installed it. Holding off because I've finally hit the wall with the HK headunit. I gotta have bluetooth. Now I'm hu shopping. I'll pick one w/ CD and BT that's totally plug & play and that utilizes all the hand controls, plus avc.
