Ultra, that is well thought out. Your creativity is impressive!!! Looks great and best is you did it yourself so you save a TON of cash! Wish you lived closer I would pay ya todo mine! Great work and thanks for always being open and available for questions and sharing your knowledge!
thanks guys.. my initial plan was to make the false bottom out of 1/2" thick lexan to allow for viewing then I decided because well it is a tourpak and will get used as a tourpak that something lighter in weight but stronger would be best for the bottom. So I chose 5/8" birch and sealed it after all cuts were made then covered it in black material. The logo is actually a piece of mirrored lexan where a reverse HD logo sticker was placed and then sand blasted the area I wanted light to show from. Black and orange for the HD theme is what I wanted and it worked out well. Amazing what can be accomplished these days with LED lights.
The amazing part of this is what it sounds like. It's no bass pounding machine by any stretch but man let me tell you it sounds awesome (crystal clear at very high volume) sitting still and at 80MPH in freeway traffic I can be heard coming and do get some head turning.. Especially when listening to something like Cat Scratch Fever or Aqualung
Awesome set up Nutz!! I'd really like to see, and HEAR your set up in person! Keep on Rocking (in the real world) dude! Love those HAT's! I saw your signature had changed, wondering when you would post the details.
BT are having them redesigned for more clearance for the saddle bag lids when opened
4-5 days before they get them!!
thanks for the heads up.
kinda disappointed Bill didn't call to tell me this as I mentioned the issues about the bottom edge/saddlebag lid when I first put them on to him and to Leroy at June's Upholstery.
Oh well.. just talked to him, i'm on the list for a swap.
alrighty guys.. I'll put the words together for you soon but in the meantime, here are all the pics of the project pretty much in order as it happened. I'll put together the documentation for each pic in order. All equipment installed is in my signature line.
NutZ, very cool, I hope when you do the write up you explain how the two amps are wired. Would love a set up like this although not sure where I would put them.
