NutZ,
What is the RF 3sixty.3 DSP? Is it a digital replacement for an analog audio mixer?

pretty much but on steroids.

what I liked about it at first was simply the fact that you plug your head unit into it while it's connected to the computer, pipe a built in tone through it and it determines your clipping level from the RCA outputs on your head unit. Then based on what size of speakers and whether they're component or coaxial and they're location in the system it determines your gain settings for the device to match to the amplifiers.

But now that I've played with it a bit, it does a TON more and one of the coolest features is the ability to apply EQ settings to each speaker independent of the others. So in essence I can have different EQ settings for each of the 8 individual speakers.

All settings are controlled via the 3Sixty software loaded on your computer.

Pretty slick device IMO

Sounds like it! I used to have a fairly good understanding about audio and recording technology in the analog days. In fact in a previous life I was a recording engineer focused on high frequency video but occasionally ventured into audio since the primary format we used had multiple tracks of audio, control, and helical video. The company I worked for didn't accept the fact digital, other than on magnetic tape, was going to become affordable and as a result is all but gone now. So, I changed careers. I have about a fifteen year gap in my understanding of the technologies which just about means I don't know anything. I would imagine learning to use that thing is quite a learning curve and very interesting. Sounds like something my boat may like.

after I found it I said "no way in hell I'm paying $600 for that" until I found this seller on eBay running them out the door for $367. So I jumped on it.
