Needing some help before I tear into the radio -- or spend money at dealer.
2005 Ultra with stock AM/FM/CD/CB radio. It was working fine yesterday. I got on the bike today and ... nothing. No radio, not even the clock came on. Everything else on the bike is working fine.
Question: Radio -- or just a fuse somewhere? And if it is a fuse, where would I start? Behind the fairing?
Thanks for your help in advance. I'll check back in a day or so.
Check the fuse, located in the fuse holder under the side cover.
Excellent... Thanks. I'll do that. I'm hoping that is the issue versus complete radio failure.
However, if the radio is dead, it would be an opportunity to replace it with a CD player that doesn't skip and stop. Seems to be inherent problem in this model.
Check the fuse, located in the fuse holder under the side cover.
Well...not the fuse. Changed it out and radio still dead. So going to check back of radio to see if came unplugged, or full replacement of radio in my future.
Just as a follow up to help anyone with the possible issue in the future: The problem was a wire from the radio that rubbed bare and kept blowing the fuse. Changed the wire, redirected it, and put fairing back on. All is good -- and much less $$$ than I expected for the fix.
