I have a question on the firmware updates. I got the dealer to flash the recommended Rockford Fosgate settings on my 14 SGS. If I update the H-D firmware, will I lose the flash? Apologies if this has been asked and answered......
Here is what I found on the RF website when I was doing my upgrade and this is the flash I have now. Apologize for the quality... The important thing is to be on the SYSTEM INFORMATION tab when the tech sets the amp1 and amp2 to NO which may be the default) and on the SPEAKERS tab when he sets it to 8 speakers /blah, blah/2 amps.
Also keep in mind that this flash makes it necessary to use a remote turn-on wire which I wired up to the positive side of the 'cigarette lighter' port.
I also lost the automatic volume control which I didn't think worked that great to begin with.....
Now if someone can answer may latest question about if I upgrade the firmware to the next level, will I lose the dealer flash?
I used the suggested settings from JM I think it was, and AVC, fade, bass, treble, etc.... everything works.
I'd like to hear too if doing the latest ECM download overwrites the flash. My guess is it would. I'm not going to be the one to find out lol.
Truth is, I don't have any Boom issues that need fixing.
All my different flashes and all my updates.I never seen my flash affected by an update.but who really knows..What affect one my not mean nothing to the other one..remember same flash different results. .all DT machine are updated at different times. .that a problem in itself. .
