Actually my '15 CVOSG has it installed from factory, HD's introduction of the Boom ll system. I will say it is an amazing difference from the stock system that was on my '14 SG. I had removed that and installed a system built of Focal KRC 165 and a Arc Audio mini and it was amazing. The New Boom ll is truly very competitive with what I had in my '14. It is expensive but its going to fit/work/sound amazing
I stopped in the my HD yesterday to listen to the system. I will admit it sounds nice but it sure is pricey. After asking a few questions the service guys mentioned that the charging system needs to be upgraded with it. I'm assuming its part of the "package", So what is the final price someone is paying for this OTD.
I have been reading through this thread for days and there is an incredible amount of information here and I'd like to thank the OP and all that have contributed.
I purchased a '14 SGS in September and only got about 1200 miles on it before the weather changed and I decided it was time for winter upgrades. I have the 6.5 system with the "upgraded" Boom speakers. After reading through the first 52 pages of this thread I have decided that the RF PBR300x2 is the amp that I want, seems to be the best bang for the buck. Where have a problem is the speakers. I want to stay with just the 2 fairing speakers, at least for now but not sure which way to go for speakers. I have read that the Infinities are weak on bass which is important to me but I want to improve the overall quality as well. Any thoughts on what speakers will give me better bass, clarity and volume?
As most of the posts on this thread here, I am also just beginning to venture into upgrading my stock '14 Limited boom audio system & have been reading the entire thread from beginning to end for the last several weeks and I still only halfway through the entire 2014 audio thread.
In any case, I found a youtube link here & wanted to share to all, someone who recorded, via smartphone, the same audio demo I heard at a local dealer and it kinda confirms what I experienced regarding the night & day difference with no amp vs with amp...however, the difference between stageI vs stageII is hardly discernible, IMO...
I am not really an audio expert, but what is convincing me to add an AMP to my stock boom system, was when I heard at a local HD dealer the boom system demo where you can test hear the NO AMP stock boom system vs WITH AMP boom system. They even had the stage1 & stageII demo and I could not actually discern any difference and I am sure there is one, but I have to really listen hard...
not even close I'm afraid. that rushmore head unit injects a whole different set of issues as far as I'm concerned. What they've done here is simply take an amp, wire an iPOD as an input source, and connect speakers to the amps and then run the speakers without an amp. Gives you a general idea of what the amp does but that head unit is something else..
Ok. 15 RG. Bought a wire kit from cycle sounds. Just in case the wires aren't marked, which is +- right and left on the Harley harness? Also the flash/no flash, 2,4,6,8 speaker and remote turn on. Based on half 120 current pages was that if you turn off amp 1&2 you will need to use the remote turn on because there is no longer enough power on the high level. And the other half you dont need the remote. And now RF advisory is incorrect? Whats correct? Help Nutz!
on the harley harness, looks like they changed colors up a bit on the 15s.
right front speaker + pin M1 - Pink
right front speaker - pin M2 - Pink/Black
left front speaker + pin L2 - Pink/Orange
left front speaker - pin L1 - Pink/Grey
yes you are correct on the remote turn on lead IF you have the head unit flashed. Looks like they also added a remote trigger wire to the head unit harness on the 15s as well. Pin F4 - Light blue/brown. Test this with a meter to make sure. You should see a minimum of +5v on this lead.
RF advisory is not incorrect for the 14 models. Problem is HD is getting wise to what people are doing and upgrading software in head units.
amps 1 and 2 off, 8 speakers on. with 8 speakers on this enables your fader.
I just got MY PBR300X2 with amp wiring kit and ready to install it. I also got the Cycle sounds magic box and amp speaker install kit so I don't need to cut any of the factory wires. I have the Boom 6.5 upgrade speakers and decided to give them a try before I buy speakers but will probably end up with Polks. So do I need a remote switch on 2014 and if so where is best to connect it?

Your Boom speakers are not going to last long with that amp. I would pull them out and sell them while you can still recoup some money from them.
I connected my remote turn on wire to the "cigarette lighter". Tap into the purple wire.
If you are thinking about the Polk MM651's be aware they have had issues with the tweeter stalks becoming unglued. The Infinity Kappa 62.11i are a great speaker for your amp.
