Default 6x9 mounting location ?

Anyone ever mount 6x9's facing forward in there bags... like pointing at the back of your legs???

Or...am I better off mounting them in the bags, pointing at the rear tire??? I don't want to do the lids... trying to figure out the best alternative.

Thanks!

Personally, I would do the lids before anything else so the sound is directed towards the rider and passenger, but to answer your question, I would think pointing at the tire would be better. By having them face the front, the wind/bugs/rain/debris would be hitting them pretty good at speed.

I know you said you don't want the lids, but I just got mine completed tonight and the sound is absolutely unbelievable. I'm very satisfied with them.
