I just installed some Polk DB651's in a street glide with the stock Harmon Kardon head unit. Sometimes while running my satalite thru the accessorie port the sound gets muffled. I doesn't happen all the time and has not happened that I can recall in FM mode or with an I-Pod in the access port. The cable is such a simple piece of the puzzle and does the port of the Harmon Kardon (very) sporadically not pass a signal? Is there a possibility that the head unit could be underpowering the 4 ohm speakers?
This sounds familiar. Didn't you or somebody post this same question in another thread? Could have sworn I answered this question before.
Anyways, if the problem is only with the satellite receiver then it must be something unique to only it. The cable, the aux port, or the unit itself. And the stock head unit is very underpowered for those 4 ohm speakers, but it won't explain why the sound is only muffled with the satellite.
That was me in your last series of responces. I have not been able to recreate the problem yet, which is a good thing. But, I don't think it corrected itself.
I will just keep ridin and jammin and see what happens next. Thanks for your help.
