I presently have a Rockford Fosgate PBR300x2 amp, stock head unit with Polk MM651. Gain is set about 1/2 way. I adjusted it with stereo volume up 3/4. turned gain until it started to distort and then turned back a little. I run stereo volume about 1/2 way or less. AVC is set at two bars.
Here is my problem. One of the first Polk speakers installed went out totally. They did last almost a year though. I ordered another set. I changed both speakers. Now, one is cutting in and out depending on which hole or bump in the road. I'm getting a little fustrated with this. The second set only last about six months. It's only one speaker too. The other sounds great, but this is twice now. I am using the supplied crossover.
I was thinking about going to the Rockford Fosgate marine speaker M262B. Looks a little big. They say shipping weight is 7.8 lbs. I figure 3.5 pounds each speaker.
Oh, and I have a 2012 SG. These speakers will go into my fairing.
Thanks for the info. I don't think the P165 will work with my amp. The RMS is 55 watts and my amp puts out 75 watts. I would like to be at least 75 watts RMS. But thanks for the offer.
Does anyone know the max mounting depth for the batwing?
