Removed the large corrugated wire protector. It's seemed to solve part of the problem. It is now clear that the amp is also hitting the fairing. I trimmed part of the speedo and tach mounts so I could slide the amp back even further (approx 3/8 inch) but still the amp's corners are hitting the fairing and preventing it from seating properly. This is really frustrating - I must be missing something!

Bend the metal corners of the amp down in the front if you need to.

If you're referring to the mounting tabs, they are on the bottom of the amp. It's the top forward two corners that are hitting.

Well I'm out of ideas then. My same SS amp is pushed up against the back of the gauges with the front corners of the amp turned down and large corrugated protector off and it buttons up nicely.

All my **** is apart on the bench or shipped off.

Take a picture of your current set up and show us what you have going on.

How did you mount the amp to Scott's bracket? Is it flush or did you raise it up? As the Amp mounting tabs are wider than Scott's bracket.

By the way, my amp is secured to the top of the head unit with velcro and nothing else.

Here are a couple of shots...might be a bit difficult to see...

BTW, I used strips of Dual Lock to secure the amp to the top of the bracket

Get rid of the bracket between the head unit and amp and the problem will be solved. Velcro the amp directly to the head unit. It's not going anywhere.

So are you saying that I should only use the lower half of Scott's bracket? Is this how you mocked yours up?
