What I did with my setup was that I just set the amp on top of the head unit and installed the Cb module & I-Pod module under the head unit. I then used 2 large Black tyraps to secure both the amp & the modules. It was rock solid. If I still had my 12 UC I would take pics, but I dont. If all fails I would take the Bracket off and mount everything as I did. Hope this helps.

Excellent solution! There is a MacGyver in all of us.
My HU was finished up today and shipped back with a delivery date of Monday 3/10. But, I'll be out of town on business all next week, so I should have some pictures up next weekend slammd.

Hey thanks, I really appreciate it.........and everyone else's suggestions as well!
I don't know if you got it sorted yet or not man, but I got mine installed today and here are a few shots. Hope it helps if you're not done yet.
I had to remove the tach and speedo to perform some surgery on the brackets so I could slide the amp as far inboard as possible so the batwing would fit. This included snipping the harness ties and moving them around so I could actually slide the amp in and out as well.
Left bezel cut
Side view (this is the right one cut)
Both cut (the notched cuts face down when installed allowing the amp to slide back more)
It allowed me to be able to slide the amp way back...because of the tight fit, as you can see from the top left of this picture, I had to use a couple of right angle RCA jacks to get them to fit if that is the route you are going.
The amp sitting directly on Scott's bracket and 1 1/4" back works fine.
Thanks HotD...I performed the same surgery as you but still struggled getting the fairing back on...I ended up discarding The bracket all together and using dual lock to secure the amp and the other two modules to the head unit. But I have to tell you, with all the wiring, it still wasn't easy getting it all back together.
When you put everything back together, did the fairing slip on just as easy as before or did you have to coerce it to get all the bolts in? I wish I would have asked you to take a few more shots of how you routed the wiring harnesses...I think I still have some issues here. Thanks for all your help....enjoy the tunes!

Once adjusted as stated above, the amp did not pose a problem any longer, it was the wiring that had to be adjusted so the lid would fit on normally. I first started routing **** all pretty and stuff but the batwing would not fit so it was trial and error with the wing, move some wires, put the wing on to see what was in the way, move some more wires, see what was in the way, until the wing fit normally. Unfortunately, for this mild OCD dude it's not as pretty under there as I'd like at this point but effective.

OK, cool! Then I'm not out of my mind. I also believe my issues were related to the wiring harness positions. Thanks man!
