new guy here..........made my intro...............got a 1988 flhtc stock radio.............thought i`d change the 26 year old still working speakers for something little newer put in titan hertz...............can not here them above fifty full volume..............no problems with stock...............any thoughts?..............steve

Welcome Sir. . .Smartest Guys I know in regard to audio right here. I'm sure they will more than happy to jump in on your issue. You've got a couple things going on I see right off the bat. 1988 stock radio and no amp with brand new titan hertz speakers. . . .I'll let the experts take it from there.
If you replace the head unit and or amp you can use different speakers.
You should be able to still use those 4 ohm speakers if you wire them in series with your stock HU... I think.
