Default Need replacement for MM651's

Installed new head unit, amp, speakers last year, based on the info I read here. Was really happy with the sound, ended up frying, at least somewhat, one of the 651's on a 4 hour ride down to BBB.

I thought I'd ask here, if there is a recommended speaker in the $150 range?

Thanks in advance guys.

A lot of guys like the Infinity Kappa 62.11i's. Another one mentioned a lot are the Kicker CS series.

Biketronics Titan II's 6.5's without the adaptors are $50 less than advertised price.. Give BT a call and they will hook you up...

Check these out. . . They are the upgrade to the C series. Have not got these yet but if they are anything like the CS67's they are awesome!! and the price fits your range:

Will these fit the 6.5 adapters in the fairing?

Add me to the list. They are head over heels better than the polks. Higher highs and midder mids (if that makes sense).

LOL . . . I wouldn't say HEAD OVER HEELS. . . That's a bit extreme! I've had both and the POLKS will compete with the infinity's hands down. Durability is another issue. . .

Now between the Kickers and the Infinity Kappa 62.11i Which would you choose?

I liked the MM's but they seem like throw away speakers every 2K miles.

I'm presently running the Kicker CS67's now and they sound very good. I have not heard the new KS series 6.5's But I have the KS series 6 X 9's in the lids and they are insane!! I had the infinity's in my bike last summer and they are LOUD, CLEAR and sound GREAT. . . My only issue as 6.5's go was the bass. These are great speakers going down the road at 90 MPH. But I had to add two pioneers in my lids for Bass. Where as the kickers gave me moderate bass all the way around. ( 8 speaker system)

The only reason I swapped out the Pioneers for the Kicker 6 X 9's is the Kickers have more clarity at speed. Don't get me wrong I love my pioneers but I use them when I run into a parking lot A...hole with subs who thinks he has the only bike out there with bass. LOL!!

To answer your question. . . if I were you I'd go with the Infinity's. The KS series speakers have not been "Vetted" yet. Got Two pair on order I'll let you know!
