Default Stereo Install - Ultra LTD

Afternoon all,

Wondered if I can get some help on a small issue Im having.

About 1-2 years ago I installed an after market stereo kit from biketronics, head unit and install kit. I also installed/upgraded the front speakers to 6.5 Rockford Fosgate, then rear lids with RF 6x9, I also installed a RF miniamp. Its been running fine for all this time until about 4 weeks ago.

While out when turning off the bike the music was fine then it would cut out like I lost power, but I still had power as you could see the headunit was still on then the music would start up again.

I thought it may be the battery not man enough but the bikes starting fine and no other issues.

Then I thought it may be a loose wire I had the headunit and speakers checked and also all the wiring and again its still doing it.

Ive checked the gains on the amp and turned them down and still doing it

When the bike is running no issues at all sound up down no issues Im new to all of this so any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Richard

Richard my response is "assuming" the RF amp you're referring to is of the PBR lineup. This sounds like the remote in on the amp is connected and it should not be.

The remote in is where you would normally feed 12v to turn the amp on with the ignition switch or via remote out from the head unit. On the PBR amps, this is not needed because the speaker wires coming from the head unit to the inputs on the amp is what actually turns the amp on. When this happens, the remote in on the amp then becomes a remote out and feeds power back into your electrical system when the key is turned off.
