Issues with 6.5 rings. Help

Issues with 6.5 rings. Help
I have installed a set of dragonfly 6.5 rings with polk 651s. I didnt really have any alignment issues and got them mounted right up. after reinstalling the outer fairing (several times) i have a noticeable gap above each speaker between the outer and inner. I didnt have this gap before and now water can definitely get in. Has anybody else had this problem, if so what did you do about it?

jaymiller5 had this issue awhile back. Here's his comments back to me.
thanks for the reply, the 651S's (slim) speakers are too small for the 6.5" adapter rings and I got the MM651's and all was well.
