Default Amp "pops" on turn-on

Just a quick question: I didn't have this issue with the Soundstream PN4/520D, but now that I have the Power Acoustik Razor RZ4.2000D, I am getting an loud "pop" through the speakers when I turn on the bike. It also emits a less-intense 'pop' when I switch sources. I'm running 8ga. wiring from the battery (with a 40A fuse inline), and a short ground wire run of 8ga. wire from the amp to the triple tree.

Would my ground be the issue? And if so, should I reconfigure my wiring to run the ground directly off the battery?

FYI: Except for that "popping", the RZ4.2000D seems to be working out very well for me. My only other issue was my handlebar control interfaces (both the BT1005 and Axxess ACSW-1) causing the radio to go nuts (volume down wouldn't work, the volume would fly up to max and the radio seemed to freeze up, so even the deck's buttons didn't respond; nothing short of popping the faceplate would stop it), but since I removed the PV fully, that SEEMS to have ceased.

Thanks in advance, gurus!

I'd make sure sure ground is nice and tight. If it still happens I'd move it to another location. You could potentially even run a temp ground wire if you have extra wire straight to your battery since you know that would be a good ground to see what happens. At least you'd be able to rule out the ground as the culprit.

Dam Mike this is not good news? I was going to try the power acoustik this weekend with my Pioneers. No worries. I've had that problem before. This is just me and my experience. The gurus will certainly have a better answer. But when that happened to me about a year ago It was all about the sequence in which my components turned on. What I learned is to always make sure the Source HU turns on before the amp and vice versa on turn off. Have not had that problem since. This audio stuff will drive you crazy sometimes. . . lol

I had the same issue with my SS4.520. No amount of ground wire massaging would fix it, and I wasn't giving up my RCA preouts. So I got a remote-on delay that solved the turn on pop, and a couple ground loop isolators for the turn-off pop I had. Virtually eliminated all the popping (turn on completely gone, all others nearly so).
