I've been thinking about this upgrade for a while, my journey started with original Hog Tunes amp and speakers (32 rms), went to Arc (75 rms) and Polk DB sep., and added Focal CA 165 to my rear Hog Tune Tour Pak Pods (pretty good). Then I added lowers and Titan II's (HAT's) Impressed with the HAT's, then added HAT 6x9 in lids with the SS 4520 system is pretty good, but at high volume and with the sudden dynamics of say a drum fill I could hear some distortion in my system. So... I will just add the BT4180 to my present speakers to see what difference the amp makes. Oh yeah I also changed out my stock HU for an Alpine CDA 9886 when I installed the SS. I think it should make a big difference right now the SS puts 65 rms to each speaker with the Bt it will be 115 rms per speaker. When I talked to Bill at BT he said when he bench tested the SS he could hear and see the distortion, it came from SS using a "chip" that SS could of upgraded for about $1. He also told me they make the 4180 right there in their shop...any way I'll let the forum know the results. So right now I have KPS focal comp. in my fairing and 3 sets of Hat's (6x9's in lids and 6.5 Titans in lowers and tour pak Pods).... we will see.

Congrats Mike! I know you have been wanting that 4180 for some time. Make sure you let us know how it works out for you! It's been on my list for quite sometime as well. To use a term coined by Pioneer74 my Fosgate 6 x 9's are "Shaking the ground" with the soundstream TN4.900.. . .LOL But I'm running the 520.D for my upper and lower fairing speakers and there's a huge difference between the two.

Thanks Keith, yeah I'm hoping for LOUD AND CLEAN!!!... double the power and cleaner, should wake up the HAT's and KPS's! I didn't realize you had a Tn4.900 thought you were running 2 520.D's anyway I'll let you and the forum know about the upgrade.
Would you recommend the tn4.900 for some bt 6x9's? (kicker CS67 in the pods)
Yes Sir! Nutz is running his Biktronics 6 x 9's with the TN4.900 and I think he's quite happy with it. Just for the sake of knowing what the hell I'm talking about on here. I have paired the TN4.900 with 4 different sets of 6 x 9's after running them all with the 520.D.
They all have different sonic character but every last one of them jumps out the saddle bags with the TN4.900. The Pioneers and the Kickers have the best bass and the Infinity's have the best clarity. The Fosgates are a combination of the two. I would have to conclude at this point it becomes a matter of preference and the type of music you listen to. But whatever you listen to this amp will bring out the best of the speaker!
By the way I run the Kickers in my rear pods with the TN4.900 as well and they hit really hard!
I fell in love all over again with this amp! lol
But guys, if you went with the Soundstream amp and you have lowers and lid speakers, won't you actually need 2 amps to get the best sound. One amp for the fairing and lowers and the 2nd for the lids? Or can you wire all up to 1 amp?
